Countertop convection ovens are popular with many home cooks because these small kitchen appliances perform multiple functions and are economical in their use of space and energy when compare with stovetop ovens.
Although with these countertop ovens it would be impossible to bake a whole turkey, there are many everyday baking jobs were using a conventional oven would not be practical.

Whether a meal is freshly prepared or frozen, using a countertop oven makes more sense for baking or heating up smaller dishes. Most of these ovens have enough room to fit your typical size entrée and 12" pizza. Heating elements are shield to protect them from drippings. Crumb trays catch anything that falls and interior surfaces are usually easy to wipe clean.
Usually racks are provided along with a pan. On some models, racks slide in and out partially whenever the oven door opens and closes. Basic features include a temperature dial, function control for baking, broiling or toasting and a timer. Some brands or models have timers that automatically shutoff the oven when baking is done. This function makes these appliances much more convenient and safer to use.
Convection ovens circulate heat around the food with a fan. Because food cooks hotter and quicker with the convection fan on, manufacturers recommend reducing the baking temperature down 25 degrees and checking the oven ten minutes sooner.
Some ovens have interior lighting and some don't. An interior light is probably unnecessary because dishes are easily seen through the glass oven door with lighting available in the kitchen.
When shopping around for one of these kitchen appliances, stick with the name brands and read user reviews before making a final purchase decision. Countertop convection ovens are convenient, practical and economical. A kitchen countertop almost seems bare without one.
